Hugh G. Billingsley, 76

Tupelo- Hugh G. Billingsley, age 76, passed away on his birthday, Monday, February 6, 2023, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a lengthy illness. A Tupelo native and lifelong resident, he was born in 1947, he was the son of Howard and Vera Harkins Billingsley. He was a graduate of Tupelo High School and then went on the Mississippi State University where he earned his bachelor’s degree and teaching certification. Hugh had hopes of teaching high school social studies, but due to health issues, he was unable. However, he did enjoy substitute teaching from time to time.

Hugh was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, February 9, 2023, at Tupelo Memorial Park.
