Inez Stewart West, 90

March 25, 1936 – March 28, 2026

Shannon–Inez Stewart West, 90, of Shannon, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, MS. Inez was born March 25, 1936, in Mathiston, to Dewey and Mary Stewart. Inez married Thomas L. West in July of 1953. They made their home in Shannon and were members of the Shannon United Methodist Church. Inez worked for many years at Action Industries prior to joining her husband in retirement.

She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth West of Corinth; her son John Thomas West of Austin, Texas; two grandchildren, Emilia West and Sarah West of Austin, Texas; nephew Chris Rose of Seymour, Tennessee.

Inez was preceded in death by her husband Thomas, her parents and her sister, Sara.

A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, April 10, 2026, at Shannon Cemetery. Pegues Funeral Directors has been entrusted with the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity or your choice, Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo or Shannon United Methodist Church.
