Construction for Jack’s restaurant should begin in April

The coming of Jack’s to New Albany is reported to be official, since formal plans have been received.

Construction should start about the first of April, according to the city building inspector’s office.

The location is on Hwy. 30 West, just past the Hwy. 30-West Bankhead Street intersection. Just northeast of the BNA Bank branch. Walton’s Greenhouse has stored portable buildings there in the past but will now be more concentrated at the former truck stop building.

Jack’s was founded in 1960 in Homewood, Ala. as a walk-up hamburger, shake and fries restaurant.

They feature made-from-scratch biscuits, hand-breaded chicken, bigger burgers and hand-scooped shakes and promote the idea of Southern hospitality.

They have more than 145 locations in Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi and Georgia. Nearby Jack’s are in Amory, Tupelo and Corinth.
