James Curtis Robertson, 45
January 27, 1980 – April 3, 2025
TUPELO – James Curtis Robertson, age 45, received his ultimate healing April 3, 2025 surrounded by family and special friends at his home in Tupelo, MS after a four year battle with brain cancer. Curtis was born in Canton, OH on January 27, 1980. He married his high school sweetheart and best friend, Lori Harrison in 2001.
Curtis was a proud alumnus of Eupora High School (1998) and Mississippi State University College of Business and Industry (2002). He was employed with Timberlake Foods in Tupelo for 13 years and considered his co-workers family. Curtis was a long time volunteer with Tupelo Parks and Recreation, coaching all three of his children and countless others in baseball, softball, soccer and flag football, one of his greatest joys in life. He loved helping young people learn the value of sportsmanship, respect and teamwork while becoming the best versions of themselves. He also loved serving in a variety of capacities at his church, Saltillo Methodist. His passion was youth, and he loved to help young men and women grow closer to Christ be it as a Sunday School teacher for middle school boys, praying with kids at summer camp or living his faith out loud though his joyful praise and worship.
Curtis was a loyal fan of the Mississippi State Bulldogs, and could be found in the stands ringing his cowbell at every home football game! He had an uncanny knack for making friends everywhere and made them feel valued and loved. He loved his family with everything he had and always put them first in every decision. Though diagnosed with a terminal disease, Curtis’ faith never wavered, and he continued to worship and praise our loving God through every trial.
Curtis is survived by his wife, Lori Robertson; sons, JC and Luke, daughter Lucille, mother Rosey Castellanos, father Gene Robertson (Lynn), sisters Shelia Robertson and Lorie Whitaker (Shannon), brother Chris Robertson (LeAnn), and many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends who loved him dearly.
Curtis was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carlos and Frances Castellanos and James and Dorothy Robertson, and father-in-law Lamar “Tiny” Harrison.
