James E. Montgomery, 84

August 29, 1941 – November 15, 2025

Furrs Community- James E. Montgomery went peacefully to sleep and woke up in his eternal home in heaven from his longtime Furrs Community residence on Saturday, November 15, 2025. He was 84. An entrepreneur, nature lover, deer hunter and all around good fellow, James owned Montgomery Flooring and Meadows Golf Course, among other pursuits in his life. He was song leader for many years at Furrs Baptist Church, where he and his late wife, Mary Alice Holcomb Montgomery attended and raised their three girls, Alicia, Monte and Greta. A fun loved guy, his live influenced many other lives and he made every day count for good! He will be missed.

A Life Celebration Service will be held at 3 PM Tuesday, November 18, 2025 from Furrs Baptist Church with former pastor, Bro. Steve Cohea officiating. Private burial will be in Pontotoc Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from Noon-service time at 3, all at the Church. Holland Funeral Directors is honored to be serving their friends and family.
