James “Jimmy” Allen Peterson, 67

September 5, 1958 – April 16, 2026

James “Jimmy” Allen Peterson, 67, died April 16, 2026 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS with family surrounding him. He was born September 5, 1958, in Tupelo, MS to Charles and Geneva Peterson.

Jimmy was a beloved brother, uncle, friend and honorary papaw. Jimmy loved his family and wrestling, spending most of his weekends with his best buddy, Charles “Charlie” Brown. He was a veteran of the Mississippi National Guard. He was of the Baptist faith and knew his Lord and Savior.

He is survived by his sister, Kathy Peterson; sisters-in-law, Ann Peterson and Verute “Rudie” Peterson; nieces, Teri Donaldson (DJ) and Allison Nissen (Garrett); great nieces and nephews, Grace and Jack Donaldson, KaeLyn, Arianna, Rayna and Karleigh Nissen, and Tyson Coats; “adopted” daughter, Trisha Watson; and “adopted” grandchildren, Kacen Williams and Kalen Watson.

Jimmy is preceded in death by his father, Charles; mother, Geneva; brothers, Charles Wayne Peterson and Donald “Donnie” Peterson; and best friend, Charles “Charlie” Brown.

A celebration of life will be 1 until 3 p.m. Saturday, April 25, 2026, at his sister Kathy’s home.
