James Stacy, 89

December 27, 1935 – April 14, 2025

New Albany – James Durward Stacy, 89, departed this life on Monday, April 14, 2025 at Magnolia Place in New Albany. Mr. Stacy was born on December 27, 1935 in Reform, MS in Choctaw County. He graduated from Ackerman High School and entered the Air Force after graduating. While in the service, he served as a mechanic on the F-86D Dog Saber Jet. He was employed in the Showood and Cover Departments at Futorian Mfg. in Okolona, MS and New Albany, MS. He also worked at Piper Industries for several years before retirement.

He loved spending time in his shop building furniture. He was blessed with a wonderful talent and made many of the pieces of furniture in their home. He also loved gardening, car shows and traveling. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.

He married the love of his life, Sarah Frances McHan Stacy on December 19, 1959 in Ackerman, MS.

He is survived by his two sons, Randy Stacy (Donna) and Jeff Stacy (Rose); four grandchildren, Josh Stacy (Shelley), Heather Stacy (Nevin Jayne), Matthew Stacy and Jonathan Stacy; four great grandchildren, Sarah, Elliott and Melanie Stacy and Azriel Nevin; two brothers, Terry Stacy of Ackerman, MS and Barry Stacy of Springfield, MO.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Frances Stacy; his parents, James Hilbert and Desiree Stacy; a brother, Donald Wayne Stacy; his mother and father-in-law, Alvin and Willie Mae McHan.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. and the funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. All times will be at United Funeral Service. Bro. Don Chandler will officiate. Burial will be at Glenfield Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Steve Robbins, Rick Robbins, David Johnson, Doug McHan, Clint McHan and Danny Jarvis.
