Janet Ann Mitchell, 63

May 2, 1962 – July 18, 2025

Mrs. Janet Ann Mitchell, age 63, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2025, at her residence in Walnut, MS.  Per her request, Janet will be cremated, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. The immediate family asks that you continue to share memories of Mrs. Janet, and they convent your prayers.

Janet was born on May 2, 1962, in Tippah County, to the late William and Betty Sue Woods. She was a Christian and was very proud of her Indian descent. She loved her family above all else, often putting them before herself.

A survivor of sorts with her life experiences, Janet wasn’t known to hold back.  She was very outspoken, showing “tough love” when needed and was a country girl through and through.  An avid animal lover, she truly loved her canine companions, Sassy, Tater, Blue and Lucy.

Those left to cherish her memories include her husband of thirty-eight years, Steve, one daughter, Shonna Sanders (Daniel) of Memphis, TN, one son, Michael Endress of Memphis, one step daughter, Kathryn Miller (Rickey) of Memphis, TN, one sister, Anna Shilling of Orange Beach, AL, one brother, Dale Woods of Memphis, TN, seven grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

She is preceded in death by one sister, Cheryl Pentecost and five canine companions, Bullet, YaYa, MooMoo, Little Bit and Golden Girl.
