Janice Garner, 75
September 24, 1949 — April 11, 2025
Janice Marie Wages Garner of Blue Springs, at the age of 75, passed away on peacefully Friday, April 11, 2025, at North Mississippi Medical Center. Born on September 24, 1949, to Hoil Wages and Myrtle Elma Watson Wages, Janice lived a life full of strength, spirit, and love. In her young adult life, she proudly drove a Peterbilt truck as part of the family’s cattle hauling business, an experience she fondly remembered throughout her life. For 25 years, Janice dedicated herself to her career at Wal-Mart, working first in the Gardening Department and later in the Fabric Department, where she was known for her helpful nature and friendly smile.
She married Frank Martin Garner in September of 2006, and together they shared many joyful memories. Janice was a one-of-a-kind woman—independent, lively, and full of charm. She especially enjoyed trips to Tunica, where she could be found happily playing her favorite slot machines. A longtime and faithful member of Tri County Baptist Church, Janice’s faith was a guiding force in her life and a constant source of comfort. Above all, she was an adored grandmother whose love and presence will be deeply missed.
Janice is survived by her two daughters, Jackie Parker, and Lana Parker of Sherman; four grandchildren, Jacob Coleman of Sherman, Tanner Russell and his wife, Lexy, of Belmont, Jared Coleman and his wife, Cheyenne, of Lumberton, and Kaytlon Wages and her fiancé, Kyle Yates, of Saltillo; four great-grandchildren, Nicholas Coleman, Amaya Coleman, Presley Russell, and Saxon-Jay Coleman; and three siblings, Barbara Morgan and her husband, Audie, Melvin Wages and his wife, Mary, and Carlton Wages and his wife, Kay.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and four sisters, Charlene Jones, Martha Dean Bridges, Shirley Towery Smith, and Joyce Roper.
Visitation will be 4 until 8 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Pegues, Tupelo.
Services honoring her life will be 3:30 p.m. Sunday, April 13, 2025, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of Pegues Funeral Directors with Bro. Chris Jordan officiating. Burial will be at Union Cemetery.
