Jerry Wayne Lockridge, 64
March 31, 1961 – March 10, 2026
Jerry W. Lockridge was a twin born March 31, 1961 in Lee County, MS to Robert Grayson and Mary Ethel Taylor. He departed this earthly life to be with God on March 10, 2006 at North MS Medical Center in Tupelo, MS surrounded by his family and loving fiancée.
A graduate of Tupelo High School, he was reared and lived in Tupelo, Mississippi, Jerry worked a variety of jobs over his lifetime.
His Uncle and Aunt, Harry and Valeria Porter Grayson, had so much faith in his future that he could provide for himself. They funded his education at Itawamba Community College. Jerry completed his plumbing courses and all requirements. Some of his life’s joys were listening to all kinds of music, fishing, hanging out with his buddies, and never meeting a stranger.
His life will forever be cherished by his family: Laura Ann Dillard (fiancé), Carolyn Lockridge (sister), Frederick (Therray) Taylor (brother), Tracy Taylor (sister), Brenda (Melvin) Spurgon (sister), Robert Grayson, Jr. (brother) a host of nieces’ nephews, and great niece and nephews and other relatives and friends.
He is fondly remembered by his family for being a simple man who was loved by his family for his genuineness and ability to fix anything that he touched. His family remembers his love of fishing and simply spending time with each other. We must all remember that although the simple things in life are just that “simple”. He has left and undeniable mark for all those who knew him.
Preceded in death by his parents, his twin sister, Sherry Lockridge.
