Jewel Glen Martin, 95

Saltillo- Jewel Glen Martin, 95, went to be with her Savior Tuesday, August 13, 2024. She was born November 20, 1928, to John and Esther Martin. She was a devoted wife to her husband, William Homer Martin, who preceded her in death after 66 years together.

She was a dedicated Christian and homemaker. Over the years, she worked tirelessly in the garden, the yard, and in the home. A friend to all, Jewel Martin never met a stranger.

Jewel leaves behind five children, Mary Ann McCarley of Townsend, Montana, Reba Perkins (Butch) of Mobile, Alabama, Peggy Stacks of Saltillo, Larry Martin of Saltillo, and Jerry Martin (Mary) of Ripley; eight grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nephews, and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, three sisters, one grandchild, and one son-in-law.

Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. Friday, August 16, 2024, and one hour prior to her service on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Pegues, Saltillo.

Funeral services honoring her life will be 1 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2024, at the Saltillo Chapel of Pegues with Bro. Danny Boudreaux officiating. Burial will be at Unity Cemetery in Saltillo.
