Born September 23, 1964, in Tippah County, Mr. Jimmy was the son of the late Paul Dean and Mary Heavener Cissom. He received his education from Pine Grove High School and was married on June 17, 1997, to his beloved wife, Gloria Kesler Cissom, who survives. A hard worker, Mr. Jimmy was a truck driver with Asco Sanitation, as long as his health permitted.

A Christian and member of Jesus Name Community Church, Mr. Jimmy was man of few words, who had a gentle soul and easy-going personality. He enjoyed the simple and old things in life. His favorite pastimes included blue grass music and picking the banjo, looking through yard sales and flea markets, travelling to the mountains with family, and old cars, especially his 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass. Above all, Mr. Jimmys greatest joy came from his family. He took the role as “Pawpaw” very serious and loved nothing more than sharing time with his grandchildren. He was a wonderful family man, who believed in taking care for his own, helping others, and keeping life simple. He will truly be missed by those who knew and loved him.

In addition to his wife of twenty-six years, Gloria Kesler Cissom, those left cherish his memories include two daughters, Cindy Medlin (Mitchell) and Robin Simpson (Scott Woods), one sister, Betty Matthews (Grady), one brother, Gerald Cissom (Julie), ten grandchildren, Steven Walker, Elizabeth Walker, Gage Simpson, Josh Walker, Thomas Walker, Emma Cissom, Syranee Woods, Tabitha Walker, Tristan Walker, and David Walker, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

He is also preceded in death by his grandparents, R. C. and Vera Cissom and Learsley and Martha Heavener.
