Joann Seger, 81

Aberdeen/Tupelo- Joann Seger, 81, died peacefully on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at North Mississippi Medical Center-Hospice Unit. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on December 2, 1943. As an adult, she met the love of her life, Douglas Wayne Seger, in Philadelphia and they were married on January 26, 1965, a marriage that lasted for 26 years until his death on September 24, 1991. She and Douglas lived and raised their family in Aberdeen, MS. Joann moved to Tupelo in 2003. She was a faithful member of Hope Church, where she taught Sunday school and was an organizer for Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes. She was very proud to be a part of the Widow’s Women’s group at Hope Church. Her hobbies in life were jigsaw puzzles, knitting and crocheting. She enjoyed working in her garden and taking care of her flowers. She loved being outdoors and fishing, but her greatest joy was her family.
A service to celebrate Joann’s life will be held at 3 PM on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Hope Church with Pastor Scooter Noland officiating. The family will receive family and friends from 2 PM until service time on Saturday at the church. A private family burial will be at Oddfellows Cemetery in Aberdeen, MS. Holland Funeral Directors is honored to be serving the family.
Joann is survived by her sons, Brad Seger (Tracey) of Fulton, MS, Anthony Wayne Seger (Traci) of Nettleton, MS, and Chris Seger (Kerrie) of Olive Branch, MS; grandchildren, Justin Seger, Brianna Smith (Jakob), Madison Seger and Samuel Seger; great-grandchildren, Ezekiel Smith. She is preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Douglas Wayne Seger.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a memorial be made in Joann’s honor to Hope Church, 2094 McCullough Blvd., Tupelo, MS 38801.
