John David Craft, 82

December 4, 1942 – June 1, 2025

John David Craft, 82, a resident of Middleton, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee.

Born December 4, 1942, in Hardeman County, Mr. Craft was the son of the late John T and Margaret Wells Craft.  He received his education from Middleton High School and was self-employed until his retirement three years ago. On December 28, 1963, he married his beloved wife, Edith Baldwin Craft, who precedes him in death, and was a member of the Middleton Church of Christ.

Mr. Craft will be remembered as a man that loved to ride horses, fly planes, and loved to hunt deer, duck, turkey and above all, elk.  He was recognized as a “good shot” until his health deteriorated; however, he was never hesitant to pursue any goal he committed to. The most important thing about Mr. Craft was that he loved his family.  Although his presence here on earth will be greatly missed, we find comfort knowing when the day comes, we can be reunited, Mr. Craft will be there waiting for us, welcoming us into our Heavenly Home.

Memories will continue to be cherished by his wife of sixty-one years, Edith, one daughter, Monica Vandiver, two sons, John David Craft, Jr (Donnita), and James Christopher Craft (Julie), one brother, Henry Craft, seven grandchildren, Jacob Vandiver (Heather), Allie Boggess (Jonah), Kate Lopera (Alex), Will Craft (Taylor), Hudson Craft (Mary), Cade and Joanna Craft, seven great-grandchildren, Ellie and Orson Craft, Naomi and Amelia Boggess, Cooper Lopera, Jak and Jameson Vandiver and two on the way.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Diane Craft.
