Johnny Andrew Wyatt, 48
May 3, 1977 – February 9, 2026
Johnny Andrew Wyatt, age 48, checked out of this old world on Monday, February 9, 2026, doing what he loved most — riding the open roads on his motorcycle, feeling the wind through his hair and freedom in his soul.
Funeral services honoring our good friend’s life will be held at 12 Noon on Thursday, February 12, 2026, in the Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home, with visitation from 10 AM until the time of service. Johnny will be laid to rest in Antioch Cemetery in Tippah County, where the roads are a little quieter, but the memories will forever ride on.
Born May 3, 1977, in New Albany, Mississippi, Johnny is the son of Gaylon Wyatt and Liz Sexton (Jr). He received his education from Pine Grove High School before mastering the art of being a true shade tree mechanic. Johnny had a gift — he could listen to an engine hum and know just what it needed. If it had wheels and a motor, especially a motorcycle, Johnny could make it run smoother than ever. Grease on his hands and a wrench in his pocket was where he felt right at home.
A man who truly lived life on his own terms, Johnny was one of a kind. He treasured time spent with his good buddies, a cold drink nearby, and stories that only seemed to get better as the night went on. He loved pond bank fishing, sitting still just long enough to reflect, though sitting still was never quite his strong suit. His sense of humor was unmatched — quick-witted, sometimes ornery, but always genuine. Rooms seemed to brighten when he walked in, because you never quite knew what he was going to say, but you knew you were going to laugh.
Though Johnny faced his share of health challenges along the way, he never let them define him. Hard-headed, stubborn, and fiercely independent — that was Johnny. But beneath that tough exterior was a loyal friend and a big heart. He would tell you exactly how it was, whether you asked or not, and if you ever needed him, he would show up without hesitation. He was the kind of man you could count on, the kind this world could use a few more of.
While he will be missed beyond measure, we find comfort in picturing him now — healed, whole, and riding those heavenly highways with no limits and no pain. The engines are loud, the roads are endless, and Johnny Wyatt is finally free.
In addition to his parents, those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Addie Barkley (Casey), and Parker Wyatt; his sisters, Kayla Wyatt, Christina Calvert, and Amanda Falkner (Paul); his brother, Wayne Wyatt; along with a large host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a wide circle of friends who were more like family.
Ripley Funeral Home invites you to share memories and condolences with Johnny’s family as they celebrate a life lived boldly, honestly, and unapologetically.
