Johnny Rhandle Dyson, 85

June 11, 1939 – June 14, 2024

Johnny Rhandle Dyson, a beloved Piper Impact employee for 31 years, passed away on June 14, 2024, at Sanctuary Hospice in Tupelo, Mississippi. He was born on June 11, 1939, in Pinedale. Johnny proudly served in the Army and dedicated himself to his career with passion and commitment.



Throughout his life, Johnny had various hobbies and interests that brought him joy. He had a green thumb and found solace in gardening. Mowing yards was not just a chore for him but a way to unwind and appreciate the outdoors. Fishing allowed him moments of peace and reflection along with watching westerns.

Johnny’s impact extended beyond his professional and personal pursuits. His warm demeanor and caring nature touched the hearts of those around him. His presence will be deeply missed by all who have had the pleasure of knowing him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Brenda Dyson. Johnny leaves behind a legacy through his children: daughters Kim Perkins (John) from Senatobia; Wanda Mears (Randy) from New Albany; Rita Clark(Dustin) Blue Mountain; son Randy Dyson (Tracy) from Ingomar; along with grandchildren Jay Perkins (Kim), Sam Perkins (Iris), Landon Vancil (Abigail), Casey Clark, Kayla Hendrix (Jonathan), Clara Dyson engaged to Tyler Heatherly, great-grandchildren Liv Perkins, Alexia Vancil, Rebecca Vancil, Hudson Neal, Owen Hendrix, Emmett Hendrix; friends and other family members.

In the journey beyond life, Johnny is reunited with his parents John Calvin Dyson and Myrtle Gafford. He joins his sisters, Lywonea Kelley, Peggy Teague, and Charlene Rogers, and son Michael Dyson in eternal peace.

The services to honor Johnny’s life will be held at Glenfield Funeral Home located at 101 N. Denton Road in New Albany on Sunday, June 16th beginning with visitation from 1:00 PM-3:00 PM followed by a Celebration of Life at 3:00 PM.

Pallbearers will be John Perkins, Landon Vancil, Randy Robbins, Sam Perkins, Jay Perkins, and Randy Mears, Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Guierro and Hudson Neal.

Johnny Rhandle Dyson will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in peace knowing he was cherished deeply by all who knew him.
