Joseph Eric Bazzill, 52

Saltillo-Joseph Eric Bazzill, 52, departed this life from his Saltillo residence on Wednesday, December 31, 2025. Born in Houston, TX on April 24, l973 to the late Mitch Bazzill and Marilyn Wade Bazzill Baxter, Eric lived in many places growing up as his father was a career military man. He graduated from Ackerman High School in Ackerman, MS. in 1991 and immediately followed in his father’s footsteps joining the U. S. Marine Corp. He did several tours of duty during Desert Storm including Africa, Afghanistan and other Mid eastern locations. He was injured in the line of duty and was medically discharged before he could make his career in the Marines. As a civilian, Eric was a Wonder Bread route man for several years. At his death, he was a 10-year employee of KDM Powder Coating Company in Lee County where he served as a supervisor. Eric had made Saltillo his home for the last 25 years. He enjoyed tending to his dogs and was a diehard Alabama sports fan.
A time of visitation and remembrance will take place from 4 PM-6PM Friday, Jan. 9, 2026 at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo. There will be no formal service. Condolences may be posted on Eric’s memorial page at hollandfuneraldirectors.com/Obits.
Eric is survived by his only child, his daughter, Madi Bazzill of Saltillo; his uncles and aunts, Stan Bazzill (Erica) and Rick Bazzill all of Louisville, Ms.; and Joyce Miller; several other relatives and their families. He was preceded in death by his mom and dad, Mitch Bazzill and Marilyn Bruce Baxter; his grandparents, Roy and Viola Bazzill and Benjamin Middleton and Effie Myers and other relatives
Honorary pallbearers will be his military family.
