Joseph “Joey” Banik, II, 38
May 31, 1987 – July 21, 2025
Mooreville-Joseph Scott Banik, II was born by the heavens of God to Pamela Bishop “Pam” Banik and Joseph “Joe” Banik Sr. on May 31, 1987 in Tupelo. Joey returned to the heavens on Monday, July 21, 2025 from Sanctuary Hospice House where he had briefly resided. Known affectionately by all as Joey, he was devotedly loved by his parents, Pam and Joe and his brother, Christopher for the whole of his life. While born with developmental disabilities, Joey was a spry, interested, engaged and loving man. He attended Mooreville Schools and was homeschooled by his parents as well. Joey transformed many lives with his knowledge of dinosaurs and tyrannosaurus. He was a T-Rex fan throughout his life. Joey loved Church and Bible study along with a deep love for his parents, brother and cousins. He enjoyed showing family and friends what he came up with on the computer. He loved riding the fire truck with his dad who was Chief of the Mooreville/Richmond Fire Department and his fireman brother Chris but he was unquestionable a Momma’s boy. Joey spent several years living in the Rosewood Group Home in Bruce where he was the delight of the staff. The family thanks the Miss. Department of Mental Health for their role in Joey’s life as well as a community who always embraced him with genuine love and concern.
A service celebrating Joey’s life will be held at 1 PM Wednesday, July 23, 2025 in the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo with Bro.
