Joyce Passmore, 79

Tupelo-Ada Joyce Passmore, known as Joyce, passed away peacefully at home in Ponchatoula, LA, on March 6, 2025, surrounded by family.



Born February 13, 1946, in Randolph, MS, Joyce was a 1963 graduate of Randolph High School. She called Tupelo, MS, home since 1991 and recently returned to celebrate her 79th birthday.

Joyce retired from AT&T (BellSouth) after a dedicated career, starting as a switchboard operator and rising to customer service manager. She was a proud member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.

Joyce and her beloved husband, Brint, shared a passion for adventure, touring all 50 states on motorcycles and making many friends in the Goldwing Road Riders Association. They enjoyed traveling across the country and abroad, especially loving their time at the beach.

Joyce was a member of the United Methodist Church, most recently attending The Orchard Church in Tupelo. She also volunteered with several community organizations, including the Civitans.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Brinton Searle Passmore; her parents, Rufus and Maurine Anderson; her sisters, Yvonne McCarter and Joni Creech; and her brother, Kent Anderson.

She is survived by her sons: Kelly Passmore (Lori) of Ponchatoula, LA, Richard Passmore (Leah) of Grant, AL, Jason Passmore (Danielle) of Guntown, MS, and stepdaughter Pamela Fudge (Doug) of Anaheim, CA.

Joyce’s legacy lives on in her fourteen grandchildren: Luke and Madison (Kelly), Logan, Kaitlyn, Caleb, Lydianne, Micah, Denver, Parker, and Conner (Richard), Ana, Eric, and Ada (Jason), and Rachel (Pamela), and her great-granddaughter, Summer (Rachel).

A memorial service will be held on Friday March, 21, 2025 at 1 PM in the Sadie M. Holland Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends from 11 AM until service time on Friday. For those unable to attend, the service may be viewed at 1 PM Friday at hollandfuneraldirectors.com/Live-streaming and will be archived thereafter.
