Judy Miles Walls, 71
August 1, 1955 – August 10, 2026
Okolona/Shannon-Judy Miles Walls turned 71 years old on August 1st. She met her creator from her farm residence south of Shannon on August 10,1926 after a brief period of declining health. Born in Monroe County on Aug. 1, 1955 to Leburn Miles and Bernice Phillips Miles, she grew up in the Amory area and attended public schools there. On Jan. 16, l971, she married the late Delane Walls in Amory. Delane died on Oct. 21, 2022 after 51 years of marriage to Judy. Judy prided herself in being a housewife, homemaker and caregiver to her family and friends. She was a special caretaker for over 15 years to Okolona’s beloved Miss Eleanor Jaggers, First Baptist Church-Okolona organist for 66 years. She lived in Okolona for most of her adult life but moved to Lee County on a farm in 2012. She was a great caretaker of the land she and Delane owned there and tended a large yard complete with flowers she cherished and her animals. A quiet moving soul, she developed a love of photography, esp. sunrises and sunsets, the last many years of her life and gave friends framed copies to cherish. A lover of all crafts, she cooked a perfect peanut brittle, loved all genres of music esp. 70’s music and enjoyed dancing. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church-Okolona.
A service celebrating her life will be held at 4 PM Wednesday, August 12, 2026 in the Okolona Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Rev. Dr. Randy Lewman officiating. Burial will follow in Oddfellows Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2 PM Wednesday only at Holland Funeral Directors-Okolona, which is honored to be serving their friends.
