Judy Walker Brown, 73

Sherman/Plantersville-Judy Walker Brown met her Creator from her longtime Sherman residence on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 after suffering an apparent heart attack. She was 73. Judy was born on April 8, l949 to the late James W. Walker and Berta King Walker, pioneers in the Plantersville area. She attended Plantersville Schools and graduated from Shannon High School. Judy married Gerald Brown on Nov. 12, l977 and remained with him 37 years until his death on Feb. 3, 2014. She remained at their home in Sherman and enjoyed her special friend, Mr. John Davis, who assisted her as her health declined. Judy was a soft, quiet personality and was very loyal her parents until their deaths and was a great lover of animals, especially dogs. She worked in housekeeping at NMMC many years and was a housewife and homemaker. She grew up in the First Baptist Church of Plantersville and she and Gerald attended Birmingham Ridge Baptist Church for several years.

A service celebrating her life will be held at 2 PM Friday, Feb. 3, 2023 from the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo with her cousin, Bro. Jerry King, officiating. Private burial will follow in the King family plot at Plantersville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 PM-service time on Friday only at the funeral home. Judy is survived by a daughter, Toinette Miller (Jerry); her two granddaughters, Miranda (Colby) Summers and Jerrica Miller all of Lucedale; her niece and nephew, Carah Walker (Bill Prater) and Andy Walker (Lynnie) all of Tupelo; her cousins, Dan Johnson of Tupelo, Cheryl Bowie (Shelton) of Collierville; Thomas King of Natchitoches, La and Jerry King (Prisilla) of Starkville and their families; her special friend, John Davis of Sherman and his family. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, JW Walker (Sarah) of Tupelo; several aunts and uncles on the King and Walker side.
