Mississippi author Julie Cantrell to lead writing workshop

Writer Julie Perkins Cantrell will be in New Albany on Tuesday, Oct. 23 at 12 noon for a book talk and short writing workshop on this year’s New Albany Literary Fest ’18 Community Read of her bestselling book Perennials.

The setting for part of this book is in New Albany at the Faulkner Literary Garden and the museum, as well as other familiar sites across the state. In addition, the book is a part of this year’s annual art challenge for the Faulkner, Folk Art and More Exhibit currently on exhibit at the museum.

“If you have had a chance to read Perennials, you will want to get the behind the scenes story of how it came to be,“ said Jill Smith, Museum Director. “We are fortunate in that she did part of the research here and that our community is part of this inspiring story. If you have not read Perennials, then you will want to put that on your reading list.”

“We hope that people will take advantage of taking to a successful writer who is available to talk about the craft of writing.”
