June Hopper Brown, 88
June 9, 1937 – September 11, 2025
June Hopper Brown, age 88, entered into her Heavenly Home on Thursday evening, September 11, 2025, after departing this earthly life at NHC Healthcare in Somerville, Tennessee.
Per her request, Ms. June will be cremated and no services will be held at this time. The family deeply appreciates all prayers during this season of loss, as their devoted mother, loving grandmother, and cherished friend will be greatly missed.
Born on June 9, 1937, in Walnut, Mississippi, Ms. June was one of five children born to the late Guy Mitchell and Vera Curle Hopper. Raised on the family farm, she learned early the value of hard work, humility, and faith. She often said there was no time for “faley” or foolishness, yet she always found joy in being surrounded by her family. She was a graduate of Walnut High School and went on to serve faithfully as a clerk until her retirement.
Though she never had many hobbies, Ms. June found her true happiness in the simple blessings of life—sharing meals with loved ones, enjoying quiet moments, and keeping close to her family and her Lord. She was a strong and faithful Christian, and she considered her greatest accomplishment to be her unwavering devotion to her Savior, Jesus Christ. She devoured His Word daily, prayed without ceasing, and held fast to His promises with a steadfast heart.
For the last fifteen years, Ms. June courageously battled Alzheimer’s disease. Even as her memory faded, she never forgot the faith she held dear or the goodness of the Lord she served. Her life was a testimony of perseverance, simplicity, and deep, abiding faith.
Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to know her.
Sweet memories will continue to be cherished by one daughter, Sonia Thomas, and four grandchildren, Lee Morrow, Beau Morrow, Brison Kinsella (Jessica), and Tristin Heflin, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Ms. June was also preceded in death by one daughter, Lucretia Heflin, three sisters, Jane Hopper, Hazel Sistare, and Vernell Wicker, and one brother, Nathan Hopper.
