The Junior Aldermen program is a brand new organization for New Albany High School Junior and Seniors. Twenty members were selected to represent the wards in New Albany. Interested students submitted essays, which were used in the selection of members for the program.

Our first meeting was last night (October 10th). Keith Conlee, Alderman at Large, and Amy Livingston, Alderwoman ward one, spoke to the new members.

The students, in teams of 4, will complete a community service project of their choice. Several ideas were discussed at the first meeting, including: cleaning the brick wall murals in town, cleaning the restrooms at the SportsPlex, pressure washing the pavilion at the Park Along the River, landscaping the community park near the Boys and Girls Club, organizing a “go day” for middle schoolers, and a community wide trash pick up day.
