Kajural Renae Burns, 63
July 20, 1963 – October 6, 2026
Kajural Renae “Kay” Burns was born on July 20, 1963, in Holly Springs, Mississippi, to Grace Burns and the late Frank Savage Sr. Throughout her life, Kajural was known for her loving spirit, strength, determination, and devotion to her family. She was a woman who embraced life, treasured the people she loved, and created memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
On the morning of October 6, 2026, at 7:43 a.m., surrounded by her three loving daughters, family, and friends at Olive Branch Methodist, Kajural peacefully departed this earthly life at the age of 63. Although her earthly journey has come to an end, the love she shared, the lessons she taught, and the legacy she leaves behind will continue to live on through generations.
At an early age, Kajural accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and became a member of Anderson Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal (C.M.E.) Church in Holly Springs, Mississippi. Her faith remained an important part of her life, and she found joy in attending church and spending time in fellowship with others. Kajural also enjoyed spending time with friends, playing BINGO, and online shopping. She appreciated life’s simple pleasures and especially cherished the moments spent surrounded by those she loved.
Kajural was a proud graduate of Holly Springs High School, Class of 1981, where she demonstrated her athletic abilities through softball, track, and basketball. Her passion for athletics continued as she attended Grambling State University, where she played basketball and furthered her education, ultimately earning her master’s degree. Her time at Grambling was a meaningful part of her life, reflecting her dedication to education, perseverance, and personal achievement. She carried her love and pride for her alma mater throughout her life.
Throughout her professional career, Kajural dedicated many years of her life to serving others and making a meaningful difference in her community. She spent numerous years working as a social worker, providing guidance, compassion, and support to individuals and families in need. She also devoted several years to working in the hospital, where she continued her commitment to helping others. Her passion for service extended into education, where she served as a substitute teacher in the Holly Springs School District. During her final year of employment, Kajural served as a Family Service Worker at ICS Head Start, where she continued her mission of supporting children and families. Her career was more than a collection of jobs; it reflected her caring heart, dedication, and lifelong commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of others.
Above all, Kajural’s greatest pride and joy was her family. She was a devoted mother who loved her three daughters unconditionally and worked to ensure they were cared for, supported, and prepared for life’s challenges. Her love was reflected not only in her words but also in her actions, sacrifices, and the countless lessons she shared. She leaves to cherish her precious memories her three loving daughters, Kayla Burns, Keevah Burns, and Kenyada Burns, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
Kajural is also survived by her mother Grace Burns; her three sisters, Katrina Burns, Jacqueline Steward, and Kimberly Savage; and her three brothers, Julius McCloud, Frank Savage Jr., and Lawrence Primes. She shared a special bond with her beloved grandchildren, Kylan Burns, Karter Barnum, Kaitlyn Burns, Kingston James, and Kyrie Dillon, and was joyfully anticipating the arrival of Tyzir Jones. Her grandchildren brought tremendous happiness into her life, and the love she had for them was immeasurable. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Kajural was preceded in death by her father, Frank Savage Sr.; her grandparents, Wilson and Olivia Sanderson; and her brother, Reggie Caldwell. Kajural Renae “Kay” Burns lived a life filled with love, faith, family, and unforgettable memories. While her physical presence will be deeply missed, her legacy will continue through the lives she touched and the family she worked so hard to nurture. Her strength, wisdom, and unconditional love will remain a guiding light for her daughters and generations to come. Her family finds comfort in knowing that she fought her fight, completed her earthly assignment, and leaves behind a legacy of love that death can never erase. “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:21 (KJV)
