Mooreville-Karen Annette Nichols Knight, 60, died at her Mooreville residence on Thursday evening, August 28, 2025 after an extended struggle with cancer, A Tupelo native, she was born on August 22, 1965 to the late Horace Tremon Nichols and Erin Annette Ballard Nichols, celebrating her 60th birthday with her family 7 days ago. Karen was a longtime employee and beloved soul for over 3 decades to those who frequented Dairy Kreme on the East Main Levee. She loved the customers she met over those many years and they thought highly of her, especially the little children who loved the ice cream cone swirls the eatery is so famous for! “ Mi Mi” loved her 3 grandchildren passionately and spent every spare minute she had loving, caring for and mentoring them. Karen enjoyed travel, was a big fan of watching TV, family and friends. She had a “laid back” personality but was very kind hearted , meek and humble.
A service celebrating her 6 decade earthly pilgrimage will take place on Friday, Sept. 5, 2025 at 1PM at the Mooreville United Methodist Church Family Life Center with Rev. Russell Fletcher officiating. Private burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12 Noon on Friday prior to the service. Karen is survived by her only son, Austin Knight and his wife, Katie of Tupelo; his three grandchildren. Addisyn Knight, Charlie Knight and Channing Lowry; her brother, Dennis Nichols and wife, Tracy of Mooreville and Perry Nichols of Battle Creek, Michigan, and her extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tremon and Erin Nichols and a grandson, Jaxon Knight.
