Katie Buchanan, 82

February 21, 1944  –  March 25, 2026

Tupelo-Katie Mae Bailey Buchanan, at age 82, headed for her eternal home on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, while in the NMMC-Hospice Unit. She was the widow of the late EB Buchanan, whose tire repair service was legendary in these parts for many years. Katie was born in Tupelo on Feb. 21, 1944, to the late Leander Bailey and Essie Dean Neal Miller. She spent most of her life in Lee County where she worked at Dobb’s House Restaurant before assisting her husband, EB as bookkeeper in his business. She was also a minister in the Kingdom’s Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Monument Drive in Tupelo. Her faith was important to her in every way! Katie loved life, her family and her faith.

Katie leaves behind her children, Gregory Buchanan of Tupelo, Wanda Buchanan of Plantersville, E.B. Buchanan of Tupelo and Regina Buchanan LaRock and all their families and other near relatives.
