Kenneth “Ken” Joel Taylor, 66

February 27, 1960August 3, 2026

Kenneth Joel Taylor, 66, of Raymer, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 3, 2026, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, Mississippi.

Ken was born on February 27, 1960, in Maryland to Joel and Christine Bogley Taylor. He spent many years on the road as a truck driver most recently driving for Boyd and Sons.

Ken appreciated honest work and enjoyed keeping busy. He spent many hours building things with his hands, working in his vegetable garden, and taking on carpentry projects. He was also a Mason. He loved riding his motorcycle and had a special appreciation for Harley-Davidson motorcycles. He could often be found with bluegrass music playing in the background, something he truly enjoyed. Those who knew Ken understood that while he could come across as tough and straightforward, beneath that rough exterior was a soft heart and a caring spirit.

Ken also had a special place in his heart for his beloved Bloodhounds—Sutton, Sadie, and Della—who faithfully shared many years with him, and all preceded him in death. His grandchildren lovingly knew him as “Grumps,” a nickname that suited him well and always brought a smile.

He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife, Leah Mathes Taylor; his daughters, Emily Ventura and Mickaela Adams (Craig), both of Virginia; his sons, Kris Taylor (Chrisy) and Seth Taylor, both of Virginia; his sister, Karen Taylor of South Carolina; and his cherished grandchildren, Jackson, Easton, Evan, Curtis, McKenna, Carson, Corie Lynn, Beau, and Bash.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents.

No public services are planned at this time.
