Kimberly “Kim” Ann Holmes Waldon, 54
January 6, 1971 – January 4, 2026
Born on January 6, 1971, in Wayne County, Michigan, Kim was the daughter of the late Douglas Wayne Holmes and Frances Sharon Medlin. A graduate of Blue Mountain High School, Kim devoted her life to being a caring mother, a thoughtful sister, and a loving daughter. In her mother’s final days, she lovingly tended to her with unwavering devotion. Kim possessed a true servant’s heart, always doing her best to be there for her family, filling every room she entered with warmth, love, and laughter.
A Christian woman of simple, sincere faith, Kim will be remembered most for her free spirit and deeply loving nature. She found joy in good music, being outdoors, soaking up the sunshine, riding the roads, and especially in her love for animals. From cats and dogs to goldfish, raccoons, and everything in between, Kim never met an animal she wouldn’t try to feed, shelter, and love. In earlier years, she was an avid reader, often finishing a book in a single day, always eager to escape into a good story.
Above all, Kim’s greatest pride and joy was her family. Her grandchildren were truly the apple of her eye, her children her constant source of pride, and her sister her very best friend.
Kim truly made life more joyful. In the hardest moments, she could make you laugh; on the darkest days, she could bring a smile; and when life became overwhelming, she showed others how to be strong. As we continue life without Kim’s earthly presence, we take comfort in knowing she now rests in the light of God’s love, and in the everyday moments. Whenever we hear her favorite songs, feel the warmth of the sun, see a stray animal in need, or share a moment of laughter when we least expect it—those moments will gently remind us of Kim, and the beautiful, loving spirit she leaves behind.
Those left to cherish Kim’s memory include her daughter, Anna Mays (Taylor), two sons, Austin Waldon (Julie), and Blake Waldon (Nichole), sister, Jennifer Willis, her niece, Natalie Rae Willis, her grandchildren, Rylan Mays, Callie Mays, Ian Waldon, Hazel Waldon, Maverick Perry, and Boone Waldon, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family, and friends.
Kim was also preceded in death by her parents, and her fiancé, Patrick Dukes.
