,

Kindergarten students at New Albany Elementary School presented a Pow-wow program on Friday, November 16.

Kindergarten students, under the direction of Music Teacher Celia House, sang “The Indians are Creeping”, “Hurray, It’s Thanksgiving Day”, “Ten Little Indians”, “HiYiYi”, “Just a Boy and a Girl”, “Hush a Bye”, and “This is How the Indians”.

The program included students reciting Indian facts about the Biloxi, Tunica, Chickasaw, Choctaw, and Natchez tribes. Students have been studying about the Pilgrims, Indians, and the First Thanksgiving in their classrooms.

The kindergarten students made their costumes and instruments for the Pow-wow program.
