Laura Mae Harris, 85

Saltillo– Laura Mae Harris, 85, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo following a brief illness. She was born May 26, 1939, in Lee County to John and Ruth Cole Mann.
Laura was a devoted member of Hebron Church. She enjoyed listening to gospel music, talking on the phone, and watching basketball. She worked in food service for many years, retiring from Danver’s in Tupelo, and was a caregiver for friends and family.
Laura is survived by her children, Barbara Hurt and her husband, Danny, of Saltillo; Cecil Harris and his wife, Jenice, of Amory; a daughter-in-law, Judy Harris of Mantachie; five grandchildren, Scott Hurt, Jennifer Hopkins, Jodi Ross, Rebecca Carey, and Bethanie Harris; and three great-grandchildren, Riley and Ryder Ross and Isaiah Carey; four sisters, Carolyn Wiley of Amory, Linda Broom of Pascagoula, Shirley Williams of Verona, and Judy Newell of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Aubrey Harris; a son, David Harris; and several brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. until service time Friday, March 14, 2025, at Pegues, Saltillo.
Services honoring her life will be 3 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2024 at the Saltillo Chapel of Pegues with Rev. Tim Green officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Chad Hopkins, Scott Hurt, Tom Little, Brad Mann, Nicholes Robbins, and Larry Wade.
