Library program to provide information about book gift ideas
Stuck for a gift idea for someone? The Union County Library may be able to help with a suggestion that might fit any taste.
The library will host its traditional visit from Square Books at noon Tuesday, Nov. 19, for the Luncheon with Books program sponsored by Friends of the Union County Library.
Someone will be present from Square Books to talk about some of the best new books of the year available with emphasis on works about Mississippi and this region in particular.
The free program begins at noon but a light lunch will be available at 11:30, furnished by the Union County Heritage Museum Guild.
The library has also added a new activity group.
A knitting group now meets every Tuesday at 10 a.m. and welcomes knitters and crocheters who just want to pursue their craft and socialize at the same time. New learners are welcome.
The library is continuing its preschool story time program as well with meetings at 10 a.m. Wednesdays. The Nov. program will be “Let’s be Thankful” and the theme Nov. 27 will be “Happy Thanksgiving.” Each story time includes stories, crafts and snacks and is free.
