Linda Caldwell Dickson, 77
August 26, 1947 — March 29, 2025
Guntown- Linda Frances Caldwell Dickson, born on August 26, 1947, in Tupelo to Charles Houston Caldwell and Pansy Ruff Caldwell, peacefully passed from this life on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Baptist Memorial in New Albany. A dedicated educator, Linda devoted many years of her life as a beloved teacher in Lee County Schools, touching the hearts and minds of generations of students. Linda’s life was a testament to her Baptist faith. Her love for the Lord was evident in the way she lived her life, always guided by His grace and boundless compassion. A woman of quiet strength and enduring kindness, Linda made a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In her most cherished roles, Linda was a loving wife to Wilson Dickson, whom she married on September 3, 1968, and a devoted mother to her two sons, Bradley and Keith. Her family was the cornerstone of her existence, and she found immeasurable joy in the time spent with them. She was a true dog lover, and it was said that no dog could resist her warmth and affection. Her home was always filled with the delicious aromas of her famous chocolate fudge, rich chocolate pie, and the comforting sweetness of her pecan pie—treats that were as generous and sweet as the woman herself. Linda leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and joy, and while she may no longer walk among us, her memory will continue to fill the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were touched by her tender spirit.
Linda leaves behind her husband of 56 years, Wilson Dickson; two sons, Bradley Dickson and his wife, Maggie, of Tupelo, and Keith Dickson of Nashville; one granddaughter, Maddie Dickson; two sisters, Barbara Caldwell Lawhon of Tupelo, and Brenda Caldwell Plunkett and her husband, Harold, of Tupelo; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Mytrice White, and Eloise Vance.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Pansy Caldwell.
The family will accept friends from 10 a.m. until 11:30 Monday, March 31, 2025, at Pegues, Saltillo.
Private services honoring Linda’s life will be Monday, March 31, 2025, at the Saltillo Chapel of Pegues with her brother-in-law, Harold Plunkett sharing her eulogy. Burial will follow at Saltillo Cemetery.
