Linda Gattis, 78
April 17, 1946 – January 21, 2025
SPRINGHILL COMMUNITY – Linda Rose Gattis departed this life for her life in eternity on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025 from her residence in the Springhill Community east of Saltillo. She was 78 years old. Born in Lawrence County, Missouri on April 17, 1946 to the late Lloyd May and Gladys Points May, she grew up there and moved to Mississippi eventually after marrying Carl Freeman Gattis on August 22, 1969, a union of 51 years until his death on December 9, 2020. Of the Apostolic faith, she spent her early life working for South Central Bell Telephone Company and later worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant in a Nursing Home. Eventually, she became a housewife and homemaker, taking care of her family wonderfully over the years. A woman talented with her hands, she loved crocheting and working puzzles. She also was an avid reader, a Southern Gospel music lover, and enjoyed worshiping her Lord.
Services will be held at 2 PM Monday, Jan. 27, 2025 in the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo with Bro. Bill Hale and Bro. Dillon Pittman officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethlehem Church of the Lord Jesus Christ Cemetery in Potts Camp. Visitation will be from 3 PM to 5 PM Sunday and from Noon-service time Monday, all at Holland-Tupelo Chapel. For those unable to attend, the service may be viewed at hollandfuneraldirectors.com/Live-streaming and will be permanently archived thereafter.
Linda is survived by her daughters, Melissa Hoedemaker (Victor) of Baldwyn, Andrea Gattis of Saltillo, and Carol Nix (Glenn Dale) of Houlka, and son, Stephen Gattis (Becky) of North Carolina; Mawmaw’s grandchildren, Tyler Nix, Sarah Nooner (Cole), Damon Gattis (Kimberly), Cyle Mejorado (Kristen), Britny Kloth (Joseph Florio), and Cody Hoedemaker; her great-grandchildren, Aliza Nooner, Lauriana Nooner, and Kayden Mejorado; her siblings, Jeanette Hacek, Mike May, and Don May; several nieces, nephews, cousins and host of friends and all their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Gladys May; her husband Carl; a son, Scott Gattis, and a grandson, TJ Gattis.
