Isaiah 40:31, “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

Born June 25, 1947, in Tippah County, Mrs. Joyce was daughter of the late Erskin Mason and Jean Faye Lindsey Parks. A graduate of Munford High School, Mrs. Joyce dedicated her life to being a devoted mother, loving Mamaw, caring wife and true friend to so many. Her home served as a gather space for all year around, as the doors where never locked, and a chair always available at the kitchen table, never letting anyone leave hungry. All the community held an open invitation to her home, as she could be referred as a bonus mom and Mamaw to many. She held true to the philosophy, “Good food, loving family, and warm memories are what make a house a home.” A saved Christian of the Baptist faith, Mrs. Joyce loved the lord full heartedly, always holding faithful to his word, praying over her family daily, and never losing sight in all of his promise’s. Even amongst life challenges, she never faltering in providing the best for her family, always assuring they were taken care of no matter what.

Mrs. Joyce’s love of life was evident in the way she lived. She was a woman on the move, as she loved tunica runs, celebrating St. Patrick’s Day, especially with Brenda Morgan by her side, going through yard sales or thrift stores, as she would call it “junking”, reading thrillers or suspense’s that V. C. Andrews wrote, or being outdoors, weather fishing, or soft ball coaching all her girls, where she was the head of Red Kap teams often, Mrs. Joyce loved it all. Above all her greatest accomplishments, where that of her family. Not a day went by she didn’t want to see them all, as she had an unconditional love for all her grandchildren. Many memoires were made at Mamaw’s house, as she loved making Christmas cookies yearly with the help of all her grandchildren, eating at the Chinese buffet with her granddaughter, Sassy, or even playing at the Ripley Park, always fulfilling the Mamaw role to the best of her ability.

Mrs. Joyce made life so beautiful and worth it for so many. Her heart was a garden of love that she showered over all her family and friends during her entire life. She had a way of giving people a reason to believe in true kindness, caring souls, and loving hearts. Although our hearts break today and we don’t understand why, we put our trust in God, for he blessed us with seventy-seven years of loving Mrs. Joyce. We look forward to our sweet reunion in Heaven, as we trust we will get to see our beautiful sister in Christ, Mrs. Joyce again, as she has been completely healed, worshiping at the feet of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
