Mrs. Linda Ruth Souter Donaldson was born September 6, 1949 to Mary Virginia Souter and Billy Farr in Pontotoc, Mississippi.

Linda was a lifetime resident of Pontotoc County. At an early age she accepted Christ and joined Springville Chapel Missionary Baptist Church of Pontotoc, Mississippi.

She attended school at South Pontotoc and Pontotoc City Schools in Pontotoc, Mississippi. She worked in Hospitality and Food Service for over 50 years, working for Jitney Jungle for twenty-four and a half years and serving at Pontotoc and South Pontotoc Schools for fifteen and a half years.

Linda was a mother, sister, daughter, grandmother, friend and so much more. She was the life of her generation. She loved to laugh, listen to music, being a grandmother, serving people, and telling the truth like it is. She was united in matrimony to the late Andrew “Sonny” Donaldson on November 29, 1995.

On March 27, 2026 at 5:32 in the morning, the Lord called Linda home to rest. Preceding her in death was her husband, Andrew “Sonny” Donaldson; one son, Tony Donaldson; her parents, Mary Souter and Billy Farr; grandparents, Shirley Ada Mullens Souter and Robert Cleveland “Buss” Souter; three brothers, Charles Souter, Rex Souter, and Willie “Tiny” Souter.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories: two granddaughters, Aaliyah Williams (Tre) of Mobile, AL and Oceana McGaughy (Keon) of Hernando, MS; one niece, Kimberly Sharp of Hickory Flat, MS; three nephews, Michael Souter of Pendleton, OR, James Souter of Southaven, MS, and Clayton Souter of Pontotoc, MS; one uncle, Levert Souter (Sandra) of St. Louis, MO; one aunt, Irene Heard of Shannon, MS; one sister-in-law, Sharon White of Southaven, MS; a favorite cousin/brother, Steve “Jim” Souter; a very special brother, Arthur Lusk; a host of family and friends; and a very special group of young men, her “Algoma Family”, Chris Berry, Pete Berry, Kerry Bean, Terry Hurd, and Benard Berry.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 2, 2026, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Payton Mortuary. Funeral service will be Friday, April 3, 2026, at 4:00 PM at Payton Mortuary.
