Funeral Services, with military honors, honoring Gene’s life will be at 1 PM on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Harmony Baptist Church in Walnut, MS with Bro. Mr. Price was born May 29, 1947, in Chillicothe, Ohio, to the late Lionel Eugene Boggess and Evelyn Perry Price. He was a graduate of Buckskin Valley South High School in Salem, Ohio and was employed as an Integration Engineer and then later became a construction Manager for Fortna Construction in Pennsylvania, where he was employed for seventeen years. His job often required him to travel, which he loved, and while doing so, he saw much of the United States. Never wanting to be away from his beloved wife, Deborah, he would fly her to where he was working if he knew he would be away longer than two weeks.  That was a promise to her that he always kept.  A member of Harmony Baptist Church, he will be remembered as a hard worker and just a genuine “good guy” as he referred to himself quite often. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, camping and sharing time with his family. He will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.

Precious memories will continued to be shared by his wife of thirty-one years, Deborah, one daughter, Tammy Jean Price, of Lexington, Kentucky, two step-daughters, Robyn McElwain (Todd) of Falkner, Mississippi and Kristin York (Jason) of California, two sons, Richard Allen Price of Byhalia, Mississippi, Jimmy Ray Price (Monica) of Carlisle, Kentucky, one step-son, John Wilkerson (Laney) of Philadelphia, Mississippi, two sisters, Sue Cox and Vickie Price, one brother, Tracy Price, thirteen grandchildren, Julieann Jacobs (Brandon), Hannah Jenkins, Wesley Howard (Sarah), Carrie Howard, Mallory and Aubrey Price, Kolbe McLaughlin (Cole), Grey and Gabe McElwain, Ryals and Arly Wilkerson, Stone and Sylas York, and six great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Jimmy Cross, Wynn Dollar, Mike Fitts, Brandon Jacobs, Gabe McElwain, Grey McElwain and Ryals Wilkerson.
