Local barber arrested, charged with child molestation
New Albany Police Chief, Chris Robertson, has confirmed to NAnewsweb.com the circumstances surrounding the child molestation arrest of a local barber.
Larry Hamblin, 71, was arrested yesterday, October 5th, and charged with two crimes, including three counts of sexual molestation and three counts of sexual battery. Hamblin’s victims are said to include children as young as 8 years of age, up to age 15.
Hamblin’s bond was set at $175,000, and he bonded out of the Union County Jail today at 2:47PM.
According to Robertson, a search warrant was obtained based upon the suspicions of at least one parent. Hamblin’s residence, his vehicle and his business, The Hairport, at 708 W. Bankhead St. in New Albany, were all searched. At this point, charges against Hamblin involve crimes against three children.
