Logan Matthew King, 21

March 10, 2005 – May 31, 2026

There are some lives that, though far too brief, leave an everlasting mark on the hearts of everyone blessed to know them. Logan Matthew King, 21, resident of Hickory Flat, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2026, as the result of a tragic automobile accident.

Services honoring Logan’s life will be held at 11 AM on Friday, June 5, 2026, in the Hickory Flat Attendance Center gymnasium, with Bro. John Mark Jarrett officiating and a eulogy delivered by Coach Zach Carnell. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 4, 2026, from 5 PM until 8 PM and from 9:30 until time of service on Friday, June 5, 2026 in the Hickory Flat Attendance Center gymnasium. A private burial will follow in Flat Rock Baptist Church Cemetery.

Born March 10, 2005, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Amy Curtis Thompson and Jeremy King, Logan was a member of Flat Rock Baptist Church, a proud 2023 graduate of Hickory Flat Attendance Center, and was serving as an intern with the Mississippi Department of Transportation. He also worked for three years with Take It To The Grove and was a devoted Ole Miss fan.

Logan was one of those unforgettable souls whose smile could light up a room the moment he walked in. He was kind, respectful, and carried himself with a quiet confidence beyond his years. He was truly an old soul — content in his own company, never needing much to keep himself entertained, and always finding joy in life’s simple moments. And if you knew Logan, you knew his hair was always just right.

He loved all kinds of music, from old country classics to the newest trends, and he had a deep love for life and adventure. Whether he was spending time on the river, traveling to new places, or cruising in his beloved Tahoe, Logan embraced every moment. Above all else, he dearly loved his family — especially his mama — and treasured every moment spent with those he loved most.

Logan was naturally gifted in athletics and approached every challenge with determination. He played baseball, basketball, track, and cross country during his years at Hickory Flat. In true Logan fashion, he once joined the track team just to get out of class, only to excel. During his senior year, he won the state championship in high jump, proving there was truly nothing he couldn’t do once he set his mind to it.

Children were naturally drawn to Logan. His gentle spirit, playful heart, and easygoing nature made him someone his many nieces and nephew adored. He never hesitated to spend time with them, making memories they will carry forever.

Those left to cherish Logan’s precious memory include his mother, Amy Thompson (Jordan) of Hickory Flat; his father, Jeremy King (Lori) of Ashland; two sisters, Hailey King and Paige Thompson; three brothers, Tanner King (Montana), Landry Russell, and Hunter King; his grandparents, Angie Box (Evan), Randy Curtis (Gina), and Trisha Holderfield (Larry); along with a host of beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends whose lives were forever touched by his presence.

He was welcomed into Heaven by his grandfather, Gene King; his brother, John Lawson Thompson; and his great-grandmothers, Beth Curtis and Ann Jones.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Cade Brown, Eli Brown, Wayne Davidson, Peyton Hart, Tanner King,  Jonathan May, Nate Gaines, and Nathan Russell.

Though Logan’s time here was far too short, his bright smile, his loving heart, and the joy he brought to others will never be forgotten. His memory will live on in the countless lives he touched and in the love that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
