With rejoicing hearts, and all glory to God, our sister in Christ, Lori Lee Humbers Hopkins, 62, entered into her heavenly home on Thursday evening January 30, 2025, at her son’s residents, surrounded by loved ones.

Bradley Watson officiating. Visitation will be from 5 PM until 9 PM on Saturday February 1, 2025, at Charity Church of Jesus Christ, and will continue from 12 Noon until time of service on Sunday. Burial will follow in Hopkins Cemetery.

Born February 12, 1962, Mrs. Lori was one of six girls belonging to the late Murry Lee Humbers, and Wanda Carolyn Sutton Humbers. She received her education from Kossuth High School, and while horseback riding one day, she met her sweetheart, Glenn Hopkins, to which they married on May 20, 1993. Together they planted their roots in the Walnut Community, where her home served as a gather space for her family year around. The doors where never locked, a chair was always available at her table, and she made certain no one ever left hungry. She was a believer in the philosophy, ” The way to a person’s heart, is always through there stomach”, as she was known for her incredible cooking, specializing in good southern dishes, especially her chicken and dressing, buttermilk biscuits, and delicious cakes, to which her coconut was always a fan favorite. Being a mother hen just came natural to her, and although she never failed to critique those closest to her by or sharing her opinion by started the sentence with, “Not being ugly, but”, Mrs. Lori’s love for her family and friends was clear to see, as she took great pride in being a dedicated wife, caring mother, devoted sister, loving Nana, and true friend to so many.

She faithfully worshiped at Charity Church of Jesus Christ and was determined to be a light to this world, so that others would come to know the love of Jesus and His saving grace. A Proverbs 31 lady, who loved whole heartly and never lose sight in all of the Lords promises, Mrs. Lori was quite the prayer warrior, and devoured God’s word daily. She was her family’s back bone, as she supported, rooted for, and praying over all of them. Beyond spending time with family, other hobbies of hers included playing Hay Day on the phone and taking care of her fur babies, especially “Junior” as he was her pride and joy.

Mrs. Loris life served as a testament to the bible verses, 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” She was one of a kind, and to be loved by her was to be truly blessed. Although we will miss her deeply, what a glorious day that will be when we get to see our beautiful wife, mother, sister, Nana, and friend, while celebrating at the feet of our Savior.

In addition to her husband, Mr. Glenn, memories will continue to be cherished by three sons, James Murry Bates, and his wife, Leah, Coty Hopkins and his wife, Haley, and Travis “Trave” Hopkins and his wife, Ashley, her mother, Mrs. Wanda, four sisters, Kathy Hopper, Tammy McClure and her husband, Junior, Terry Fiveash, and Becky Jones, thirteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren, with one on the way, and her dear friend, to which she considered a sister, Amy Windham and her husband, Bob, along with her canine companies, and multiple nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends,

She is also preceded in death by her father, and one sister, Mary Margarett Humbers.

Those serving as pallbearers will be Michael Crum, Gary Lee Humbers, James Waylon Bates, Seven King, and Michael Hopkins.

Honorary pallbearers will be Zak Watson, Bradley Null, and Wesley Graves.
