Lowry G. Jones, 81

Iuka, Formerly of Tupelo—Lowry G. Jones passed away Friday, January 24, 2025 at the Helen Keller Hospital in Sheffield, Alabama. He was 81 years old. Born August 24, 1943 in Pontotoc, he was the son of Laver and Mary Boland Jones. After his high school graduation, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. On October 28, 1969, he married the love of his life, Sharon Jones and they celebrated 52 years of marriage before her passing in November of 2021. Lowry’s position in sales with wholesale home décor gave him many opportunities to meet new people make many friends. He was a longtime member of Verona’s First Baptist Church and later the Anchor Church.

He leaves behind his son, Jordan Jones of Tupelo; a nephew, Steven Sewell; and special friends, Sandra and Tommy Rogers.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon; and a sister, Lucy Sewell.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday, January 28, 2024 at Pegues, Tupelo.

Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Jefferson Street Chapel of Pegues with Bro. Bubba Lollar officiating. Graveside services will follow at Black Zion Cemetery.
