Born on September 10, 1950, in Pontotoc, Mississippi, to the late James William (J.W.) and Anice Lorene Hatcher Grant, Mack was a graduate of Pine Grove High School and a faithful member of Unity Baptist Church. He proudly served the City of Ripley Gas Department for twenty years.
Mack was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather who treasured his family above all else. He shared fifty-three years of marriage with his beloved wife, Brenda, building a lifetime of memories together. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, taking pleasure in the simple things he loved. Mack also had a playful side and especially loved aggravating the kids, a little habit that brought plenty of laughter and smiles to those around him. His love for his family, his sense of humor, and the special moments he shared with those he loved will be remembered for years to come.
Those left to cherish Mack’s precious memory include his loving wife, Brenda Grant of Ripley; one son, Brian Grant (Penny) of Ripley; one daughter, Kimberly Wilbanks (Steven) of Dumas; two brothers, David Grant (Patty) and Dennis Grant; two sisters, Charlotte McCord and Mary Street (J.L.); five grandchildren, Hunter Grant (Emma), Tristen Grant, Madison Wilbanks, Zoey Wilbanks, and Lily Wilbanks; one great-grandson, Clifton Alan Grant; and a host of nieces and nephews who will forever hold him close in their hearts.
In addition to his parents, Mack was preceded in death by one brother, James Grant, and two brothers-in-law, Junior McCord and Jerry Bennett.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Hunter Grant, Tristen Grant, Steven Wilbanks, Tim Sanders, Donnie Grant, and Brady Grant. Wade Grant will serve as honorary pallbearer.
