Madden to review book at May 21 Luncheon with Books

For the Tuesday May 21 Luncheon with Books at the Jennie Stephens Smith Library Frank Madden will review Hampton Sides’ On Desperate Ground.

This book chronicles one of the most heroic operations in American military history at the Chosin Reservoir during the Korean War. Critics have said that Hampton Sides is one of the best nonfiction writers of his generation. For this book the author relies on years of archival research, letters, declassified documents, and interviews with many marines and Koreans who survived.

A light lunch will be served at 11:30 AM. The public is invited to this free event.
