Mamie Sue Brown, 65

April 30, 1959 – August 21, 2024

With deep sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mamie Sue Brown (Sue), who left this world on August 21, 2024, at the age of 65. Sue was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to all who knew her.



A visitation and celebration of Sue’s life will be held on Saturday August 24, 2024, at Oakland Baptist Church with visitation from 1 PM until 3 PM and service beginning at 3:30 PM with Bro. Robert Buse and Bro. Don Wilson officiating. Graveside services will follow in the church cemetery

Born on April 30, 1959, in Memphis, TN, Sue grew up with a passion for playing the piano. Her love for music was expressed as the church pianist at Oakland Baptist Church for many years. Until she retired, she was employed as a medical clerk in hospitals in both Ripley and Corinth.

She graduated in 1976, from Hammond Hills Baptist School, in Memphis, and received an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science from Northeast in 1988.

Though Sue never married, she cherished her family, her parents, siblings, niece and nephews, and grand nieces and nephews. She is proceeded in death by her parents J.C. and Nettie Brown, her nephew Jeremy Brown, and her niece-in-love, Tacia Winter. She leaves behind her siblings, Dr. Betty Winter, Kay Winter (Bill), and Tim Brown (Judy). She leaves behind her niece Dr. Angela Kay Winter, and her nephews Dr. Trae Winter, Dr. Jeff Brown, Jason Brown, Josh Winter, Greg Winter, Dr. Kevin Winter, and Ryan Winter; her grand nieces and nephews Parker Brown, Connor Brown, Zeppelin Winter, Hudson Winter, Emma Kay Winter, Lily Winter, Jake Winter, Phoenix Winter, Anders Winter, and Maggie Jewel Winter.

Rest in peace. Your light and love will continue to shine in our hearts and memories.
