Many friends honored Larry Reedy and Thomas Maclin at retirement reception at United Funeral Services
About 100 friends attended a retirement reception Friday at United Funeral Services for two long-term United employees who are retiring.
Larry Reedy has been with United for a full half century — 50 years. He and his wife Brenda and their daughter Laura visited with their friends and co-workers.
Thomas Maclin is retiring after 20 years of service with United. He and his wife Betty greeted their many friends, who enjoyed refreshments as they visited.
Between the two of them, Reedy and Maclin have 70 years of service at United. Their understated dignity and compassion as they have worked with grieving families are well known in the community.
“They have a combined 70 years of caring service in our grief and comfort ministry,” said Rodney Shands, president of United Funeral Service. “They have served thousands of families with care and compassion over their lifetime of employment.”
Shands and his wife Ginger hosted the event United Funeral Services on Highway 15 South in New Albany.
Many of those who attended the event are shown in the photo gallery below.
