Margaret Smith, 77

June 4, 1947 – June 28, 2024

Margaret Ann Mann Smith, age 77, passed away peacefully at her home in Mooreville on June 28, 2024. Born on June 4, 1947, in Mississippi, she was the beloved daughter of the late John Rex Mann, Sr. and Dixie Hall Mann.



Margaret was a proud graduate of Saltillo High School and continued her education at Itawamba Junior College. She dedicated 35 years of her professional life to South Central Bell and also enjoyed a fulfilling career as a truck driver for Lane Furniture before her retirement.

She is survived by her loving daughter, LeeAnne Reich of Mooreville, and her devoted son, Joel Wayne Smith (Susan) of Mantachie. Margaret also leaves behind her cherished brother, John Rex Mann, Jr. (Beth) of Dorsey, and her adored grandchildren, Russell Allen Reich, Justin Rayburn, and Melanie Rayburn. Her legacy continues with her great-grandchildren, Lexie Rayburn, Bailey Rayburn, Camden Ewing, and Cooper Ewing. She also is survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

Margaret was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ryndal Wayne Smith, her parents, and her great-grandchild, Waylon Otis Reich.

A dedicated member of Crossroads Christian Church, Margaret played the piano for an incredible 75 years, sharing her musical talent and passion with her community. She found great joy in reading and spending time with her Action Furniture family, as well as camping and boating.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M., followed by funeral services beginning at 2:00 P.M. at Associated Family Funeral Home in Tupelo with burial in the Crossroads Christian Church Cemetery.  Reverend James Marks will officiate the service.  Pallbearers will be Scott Wagner, Mason Wagner, and Robby Gunn.  Associated Family Funeral Home is honored to serve the Smith family during this time of need.

Margaret Ann Mann Smith will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her spirit, warmth, and contributions to her community will be remembered and cherished forever.
