Margarette Tanner, 81

 September 7, 1942 – August 5, 2024

Margarette Oleda Beaty Tanner, 81, passed away on Monday, August 5, 2024 at her home in Blue Mountain, MS. Margarette was born September 7, 1942 to Isaac Ward Beaty and Willie Oleda Thomas Beaty. She was a graduate of Tippah-Union High School.

She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition to being a homemaker, she worked at Denton Mills as a shipping clerk for many years.

She was a member of Faith Baptist church in Hickory Flat.

Mrs. Tanner enjoyed taking care of her family and pets, gardening, playing dominoes and fishing with her husband. Her family will deeply miss her love and care for them, her infectious laugh, inquisitive, outgoing and humorous personality, and her famous southern cooking, most notably her biscuits and gravy.

Mrs. Tanner is survived by two sons Tommy Tanner (Betty Jo) and Lee Tanner; one daughter Lorrie Tanner McDermott (Patrick); one brother Jerry Beaty (Joyce); nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William Charles “Bud” Tanner, son Randy Tanner, parents, Isaac and Willie Beaty and brothers Ralph Beaty, Victor Beaty and Kenneth Beaty.

Visitation will be held at United Funeral Service on Friday, August 9, 2024 from noon until 2:00 pm, followed by the service at 2:00, officiated by Bro. Tom Wilder and Bro. Terry Thomas. Burial will take place at Mount Zion Methodist Church Cemetery.
