Martha Ann Nash, 84

September 18, 1941  –  November 24, 2025

Shannon-Martha Ann Hendricks Nash, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and devoted community member, died at her longtime residence in Shannon surrounded by the love of her family. Born on September 18, 1941 in Tupelo as the only child born to the late Jesse B. Hendricks and Mary Frances Franks Hendricks, she grew up in Plantersville. Martha was a proud graduate of Tupelo High School, Class of 1959. Her early life was shaped by faith, family, and the close-knit community she cherished throughout her life.

On December 31, 1961, Martha married the love of her life, Charles L. Nash, a marriage of 55 years until his death on September 11, 2017. Together, they built a beautiful partnership, both in life and in business. She worked at Metro gas in Tupelo, MS and later on, they owned and operated Quality Discount Foods in Shannon, where their hard work and commitment to serving others earned them the respect and gratitude of their community.

She also enjoyed being a member of the Lively Hearts of Nettleton First Community Church and her bunko group

Known for her warm heart and loving spirit, she was an elegant lady, always dressed to the “9’s” and possessed a heart of gold. Martha especially treasured time spent with her granddaughters. She delighted in teaching them how to cook and was particularly famous for her chocolate chess pies, a family favorite that will forever carry her memory. A Proverbs 31 lady, she will be long remembered for her steady hand in managing her family, her poise and grace in times of crisis and her loving favor to all God’s children.
