Mary Jane Tucker Douglas, 68

June 18, 1956  –  March 20, 2025

BELDEN – Mary Jane Tucker Douglas, 68, of Belden, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 20, 2025, at Sanctuary Hospice in Tupelo following an extended illness.



Jane was born on June 18, 1956, in New Albany to Calvin Monroe Tucker and Mable Virginia Tutor Tucker. She graduated from Itawamba Agricultural High School in 1974. She stayed at home with her children for several years, but after they had both started school, Jane pursued a degree in higher education, receiving an Associate of Arts degree from Itawamba Community College in 1991 and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Mississippi State University in 1993, 19 years after finishing high school.

In her work career, Mrs. Douglas was employed in various positions at several businesses, including Action Industries, Triangle Distributors, Central Service Association, Renasant Bank, and Edward Jones.

As an active, faithful, and beloved member of Belden Baptist Church, Jane served on many committees and had a great love for her Sunday School class and D Group. She had a passion for serving Jesus and others through mission trips, and she supported and participated in local, national, and international missions. She had also previously served as a board member of Faith Haven.

Jane is survived by her husband of 45 years, Nelson Green (Butch) Douglas, whom she married on February 14, 1980. She is also survived by her children, daughter Shannon Miller (Kevin) of Corinth, and her son Phillip Douglas (Kimberly) of Ecru; brothers Larry Tucker (Elizabeth) of Marietta, GA, and Brooks Tucker (Judy) of Fayetteville, TN; grandchildren Connor and Raylin Miller of Corinth; sisters-in-law Judy Aubuchon (Tom Corey) of Melbourne, FL, and Linda Douglas of Saltillo, MS.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Leslie Forrest Douglas, Sr and Merrill Walden Douglas; and brother-in-law Leslie Douglas.

Visitation will be held at Belden Baptist Church from 11 AM until 1 PM on Monday, March 24, 2025 with the Celebration of Life Service at 1 PM. Pastor Shane McGivney will officiate. Private family burial will take place at Lee Memorial Park in Verona, MS.
