Mary Kathleen Armstrong, 88
August 22, 1937 – October 18, 2025
Shannon- Kathleen Armstrong, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2025, at the age of 88. She was a lifelong resident of Verona, Mississippi, where she was known for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering faith. Kathleen was a proud retiree of Deposit Guaranty Bank, where she worked for many years with dedication and integrity. She was a faithful member of Verona United Methodist Church, where she found strength and fellowship throughout her life. An avid traveler, Kathleen had a deep love for exploring new places. She had the joy of visiting 49 of the 50 states, a testament to her adventurous spirit and appreciation for the beauty of the country. Despite all her travels, her favorite place was always wherever her family was. To her grandchildren, she was lovingly known as “Granny.” She cherished every moment spent with her family and took immense pride in their accomplishments and the love they shared. Her legacy of warmth, laughter, and strong family values will live on in all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her son, Tommy Armstrong and his wife Becky; grandchildren, Mandy Armstrong Reeves and her husband Brad; Nick Armstrong and his wife Stacy; great grandchildren, Caroline Reeves; Mason Reeves; Avrie Armstrong; Darbi Armstrong; and Hank Armstrong and many special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Leon Armstrong; her parents, Oren Horace and Mary Kathleen Lemmons; son, Jerry Armstrong; brothers, Horace “Bud” Lemmons, Henry Lemmons, and Robbie Lemmons; sisters, Carrie Sue Goggans; Betty Ann Hammock and a special aunt, Grace Bowles Lemmons.
A visitation only will be held from 1-3 PM Sunday, October 26, 2025 at Holland Funeral Directors’ – Tupelo.
